Smeaton Bing
PPCA are managing the development proposal for a waste recycling centre at Smeaton Bing in East Lothian. A coal bing that has been widely viewed as an eyesore is to be re-shaped and landscaped to provide a hidden development platform. PPCA provided the landscape design and planning services, and managed the Environmental Statement (ES) with technical input from a range of consultants. The ES was structured to ensure both that the mitigation commitments were clear and comprehensive and that a clear and persuasive case was put forward to the planners . PPCA also managed consultation and interaction with the local community and the Council.
